Bitstream's Bolt Browser 1.6

Bitstream Inc. announced today that its BOLT mobile browser took top honors in the eighth annual Mobile Star Awards program, winning the "Superstar" award in the "Consumer App: Web Browser" category. Other nominees in this category included Apple Safari for iPhone, Opera Mobile and Skyfire.

The Mobile Star Awards recognize the top mobile products, success stories and visionaries as chosen by the readers of technology news portal MobileVillage's Go Mobile newsletter.

Downloaded over 3 million times since its February 2009 debut, BOLT is compatible with the majority of the world's 4 billion mobile phones and is built on a WebKit architecture that offers desktop-style page rendering on a mobile browser.
